Why Read Mind Knots?
Ahoy, ye captains
and leaders bold,
Listen closely,
for a story untold.
Of Mind Knots,
the biases we all bear,
Some good, some bad,
but always there.
These knots,
a force within our minds,
Hijack our thoughts,
they twist and wind.
Mind Knots,
a name so true,
They tangle our thinking
through and through.
We all have biases
in our mind,
In leadership,
knots are tough to unwind.
Some seemingly positive,
but beware the cost,
Their negative effects
will double-cross.
These knots that shape
our thoughts with ease,
Trick us to see things,
not as they are,
but as we please.
They push and pull us
in a certain direction,
Convincing us
there's no need for correction!
Sure, some biases have
good uses too,
Like emotional oars,
powering us
to push through.
Other knots, embolden us
and our mission,
But most lead us forward
with distorted vision.
As captains of our ship
we must steer ,
through
rough seas and calm,
year after year.
Yet, biases,
cannot be ignored,
they shape our thoughts,
and they’re always aboard.
Conformity, Illusion,
Egocentrism too,
Curse of Knowledge and Optimism - so, what’s true?
Intuition and others,
can lead us astray,
And we can’t remove them,
they’re with us to stay.
Left unmanaged,
they’ll tie up our mind,
Hitched to flawed thinking,
and feelings that bind.
Beware, these knots
can hold us back,
Preventing good leadership, and veering off track.
So, what’s the solution
to these tangled strands?
To let them lead us,
or to take command.
Agile and opposite
thinking we must master,
To lead with intention,
to avoid disaster.
Paradoxical thinking,
that is the way,
To harness your knots,
for the best headway.
Respect your mind knots
as tools to be wielded,
With an agile approach,
you’ll be well shielded.
So, remember Captains,
as you set sail,
The knots in your mind
will make or break your tale.
Know your Knots,
to harness their might.
With tacks and maneuvers,
your ship, you will right.
Since you can’t beat them,
join them, I say.
Come on this journey...
I’ll show you the way.
